I was asked by Vorm de Stad to create a unique illustration style to accompany the new visual identity they created for the 'Omgevingsdienst Noordzeekanaalgebeid'.
A part of the identity is made up of vibrant, clean horizontal shapes that intersect with each other. For the illustrations I built on these shapes to create layered landscapes in which I played with dark and light colours to create a sense of depth and atmosphere in a very stylistic way.
Fun subtile elements like a sandcastle, golfcourse and swing set bring a human element to the minimalistic landscapes. And grainy shadows add detail and texture to the designs.
